Upper Zambezi Fishing in October

Some special clients recently visited Livingstone and Mutemwa Lodge on the Upper Zambezi and this is a summary of their trip:

“Gav and Penny are simply wonderful hosts and great discussions were held every evening over dinner. Gav taking us to Ngonye falls and the jaccuzzi was a wonderful experience and they really make a fantastic effort every day and evening to make the stay as enjoyable as possible. The fishing is not that dissimilar from Barra fishing in Northern Australia where 6-8 fish a day is the norm. I sense the netting further upstream may be taking a toll as despite considerable effort spinning for bream we had no success. Having said that, a youngster picked up a 5 pounder the day before we arrived so maybe it was just us?

We did pick up nearly 100 pounds of Tiger over the 4 days and youngest son Russell picked up a 15 and 12 pounder which were both stonking fish and suffice to say, were delighted with the fish we did catch!!  Gav and Penny should probably keep fishing records year on year to monitor catches and if catches are stable or even improving as this is good info to share with clients who may choose to return on that basis. We can’t thank Gav and Penny enough for making it such a wonderful and memorable trip.” Jim, Ian, Greg and Russell Phimister (South Africa & Australia).
