What guests have said about Mutemwa: “Mutemwa’s physical location  on the Zambezi is one place where Heaven meets earth. The facilities and persons are first-class and extradorinary in providing heart-led service. The boats and decks are in great condition on standby for leisure. Should you plan a bush and river excursion this is certainly a noteworthy establishment well equipped with wonderful owners, management, staff and all other elements required for your luxury time in Zambia.” – Landon R

Day 3 – 6: A semi-permanent bushcamp in Liuwa Plain National Park

From Mutemwa Lodge we’ll go by road to visit the Sioma Falls where you are collected by the Zamia Safari Company team who will drive you to their private mobile Bushcamp in Liuwa Plain National Park. Spend the next 3 nights in Liuwa Plain as the 40’000 odd wildebeest return from Angola to calve down on the plains. This often coincides with incredible floral blooms and the hyeana, lion and cheetah take full advantage of the arrival of the new calves.

What travellers have said about Liuwa Plain:

“Why bother to go to the migration in the Serengeti/Mara, with all the crowds, when in December you can see the second largest migration here (45000 Wildebeest and nearly as much Zebra) , all to yourself. Spent 3 nights here and saw tons of wildlife including 4 cheetah and plenty hyena ( 3 dens), and not one other vehicle. Excellent birding too.” – Chris, Dec 2019

What you will find at the Liuwa Plain bushcamp:

A semi-permanent bushcamp consisting of 4 safari tents.

Enjoy game drives, walks and time around the hyeana dens.

The flower blooms, early summer skies and wildebeest calving down make this an ideal time to visit.

On day 6 you will return back to Mutemwa Lodge where you will spend your final 2 nights before being transferred back Kasane.
